Thanks for that, John.  That was one of the things that had me concerned about the "investment" I'd made in themes.

Now if we can get preview themes in the interface before we buy them, that would be great.  

Please show us more of the new experience, its exciting to see.

I agree. I was wondering if previewing themes and such will be added to the new look of XBL. I hate buying a theme when I can't see what it looks like unless I have to go to my PC just to preview it.
Oh I was also wondering if Zune marketplace would be intergrated in XBLM sometime in the future?

Wow. It looks so...beautiful. It seems like the NXE has been  lost in the scuffle in favor of some other memorable surprises this E3. Really underrated in my opinion. I wish this would pick up more media/fan steam because I think this is gonna be really, really cool.

That's quite beautiful. I like the fact that it's looking like Media Center. Also, responsiveness is one of the few things lacking with the current Guide/Blades.

It'd be great if there were other UI improvements as well, such as the ability to select multiple items for deletion, as well as one-click downloads (at least for free content, bypassing the download license).

Great. What about gamerpics? I don't know if I can live without my Pacman CE ghost...

You guys should have shown this off during the keynote.  It makes the new interface look way less drab.

Will this new dashboard be native 1080p like the PS3's or just upscaled 720p again?

I love it. But I really wondering how the game library will look like and how it works? I have a lot of games and browse through a lot of covers just doesn't seems fast or easy enough.

Amazing. The theme-less new dashboard looks a bit sterile...but it's all good with themes...maybe add some color regarding on what your in... like on the netflix screen.

It would be cool if gamerpics could be converted as a logo on a avatar's tshirt or something.

I agree with the tshirt comment above. Because i am pretty sure that with the themes we have invested in, there were also gamerpics that we had to have as well. Im diggin the new dash however.

I would like to see if there's anything you can do about showing what the XBLM looks like even if your offline. The reason i bring this up is because i work at a popular game store in Denver, CO and if we could show the customers what the XBLM looks like, it would bring microsoft sales to the extreme.

I know these are mock ups, and you probably already know this, but in the last pic, the ring of light and the button help has switched sides. Please don't make things like that randomly move, because it's confusing and annoying.

Like Quentin above, I wonder about how well this UI will scale. It looks fantastic, but the most items I've seen on screen in any of the demos has been six or eight. How do I go about scrolling through dozens of games, or thousands of albums?

I'd like to see more demos of high-volume menus and how the UI scales.

In terms of the them support, though, this is *way* better than the current setup. This might actually entice me into buying a theme!

While these pictures defiantly subdue one of the major concerns about the major update, I still have one question. How much control will themes have over the visual appearance of the dashboard (NXE is a HORRIBLE name)? Currently themes can only alter the entire background and guide background, but will themes now be able to customize more such as frame or font colors?

Everything I'm hearing about this update just makes it better and better.

I'm not liking the avatar idea.  I love my gamerpics.

I hate Avatars. Esp Mii type avatars. Please tell me all this new interface is optional and thus able to turn off in the settings. Most of this just makes me sick to my stomach.

Reasons behind my upset - the one after another in the background is distracting and makes me motionsick, the avatars look like crap (think of the Wii).

Mainly its that the main interface is hard to look at without being motionsick and having my eyes burn.

what about all the money we spent on gamerpics do we get that back or can we opt to use them instead of avatars cause the avatars look to childish like wiimii to me.

and the scaling can we goto a nice list view of albums or pitures, or are we stuck with this horrible blob of a ui thats just seeming more clunky and harder to use if you start using what they are trying to flush out like music and pictures

also what about those awefull pictures instead of icons i dont know about you i want more info less eyecandy thats all this update is looking like to me, just plain eyecandy for abandoned wii users, weeaboos, old people, people with no common sense, and children, i mean what happened to the 16-30yr old demographic of smart people, who can work through a rich information filled ai without panicking thinking they got a virus or rrod

I think it's a great update with a new clean interface. I just wish the avatars were less cartoony and Mii like.

Any chance the existing themes could work in some way similar to what can be seen with NCAA Football 09's new Live Weekend dashboard? I like how the background changes as you move between the different areas. Also, it has been suggested that it would nice if you could minize all menus to get a FULL picture of the themes or do what PS3 does and have the background change each time we go back to the dashboard.

There are all these great ideas out there, so we hope you guys can consider them before rolling out the New Xbox Experience as me and several others are still not sold on it.

You know most of these comments are extremely agreeable But i wouldn't like 360 to be anything like the PS3. that would just raise more arguements about how the 360 looks.
And with the avatar's, ya they are a bit comparible to the mii BUT...

1.why would you compare the 360 to the wii when all of us 360fans know that our 360 graphics put the wii's to rest.

2.Even if they look like mii characters, with our better graphics and better money management, this is just showing us that we can out do the wii's with their mii's. and finally

3.This is just a start of something extreme with the 360 dash and slow and steady whens the race. for example:
  The PS3 came out with a bunch different systems to put them out there and they mentioned backward compatability, which by the way is now being taken out of all systems that will sold.with the PS3 doing this they confused everybody and sales dropped believe it or not.
 The 360 however, came out with 2 hard drives for us to work with for some time and NOW they are in the process of releasing the 60GB which is much more time consuming because it gave them time to think about everything they can release within the time of the 60GB releasing.

most of these comments about the avatars, and the ring of light moving sides, they personally sound like comments that would be said after this update has come out.
when you rush the systems like that they turn into the poor next gen. systems the 360 is sitting next to at this moment (the PS3 who doesn't know the proper functions of an online mode, and the wii who is more focused on making plastic add ons to  the controller rather than coming out with a game that really shos what a wii can do).
 when it comes down to it we will all have faults or something that we won't like about the new dash But without letting it Be released We can't get to that second step of improving a new dashboard creation.
