Triggerheart Exelica Coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade This Wednesday

A unique spin on a classic shooter, players can capture enemies with anchors and fling them away with Triggerheart Exelica. The vertical scrolling shooter deploys on Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday. Triggerheart Exelica will be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated E10+ by the ESRB.

Triggerheart Excelica

From Xbox.com:

Mankind's newest and best weapon is the Triggerheart, a humanoid weapons system with a human-like personality. When the Ver'mith attack, only the Triggerhearts Exelica and Crueltear have the power to destroy the enemy.

In the classic vertically-scrolling Japanese arcade shooter Triggerheart Exelica, each weapon has a different combat style, but both can perform unique anchor shots. Anchor an enemy ship, capture it to use as a shield, or throw it back into the fray to cause massive damage. With five levels, three difficulty settings, and all the usual Xbox LIVEĀ® leaderboards and achievements, Triggerheart Exelica is a fast-paced, full-featured arcade shooter masterpiece!

  • Unique anchor shot element: The Triggerhearts can anchor enemies, capture them to use as a shield, or toss them back into the field of battle to cause havoc.
  • V.B.A.S. (Variable Boss Attack System): The game dynamically reacts to your skill level. If you have a low score, the bosses will be slightly easier to defeat. Carry a higher score, and the bosses become more challenging.
  • High-def graphics: Fully compatible with HDTVs, the graphics bring the top-down shooter genre to a new level of intensity.
  • New music: New background music willl have you grooving to the rhythm as you destroy the Ver'mith.

Very cool. I hope this trend of porting Dreamcast games continues even after Ikaruga. We're lucky this game is coming out, as it never before had a US release. XBLA is becoming a shmup fan's paradise. Very cool. This should tide people over until Ikaruga hits

(Ha! yeah right, they'll still whine).

On a side note, what ever happened to the Arcade Hits program?  While Originals has seen additional games added at a regular clip, Marketplace has not added a single Arcade game to this discount section since the initial batch.

I love this game, I can't wait for it. It's been a long time since I waited up all night to get my hands on an XBLA title. I have to for this game.

At last!! The wonderfull SHMUP (PUZZLE/SHMUP for Triggerheart) titles are starting to find its way to the western market... best thing that has happened to the videogame market in years.

Those are sweet-looking HD graphics! Looks like the screen is two-thirds banner and one-third screen. More games, less suck, please.

Glad to see this in Korea!

I do have another question: this week also brought Korea the Chessmaster Live Lewis Set, a free download.

But the Chessmaster Live game isn't available in Korea!  What's the point of offering a chess set add-on for a game we can't have?
