Looking forward to the influx of new players for Marvel Ultimate Alliance this holiday.

With this "rumor" confirmed, can the announcement of the XBLA-themed Core system be far behind?!?  (^_^)

Odd that it's been officially announced so long before hitting retail shelves. Usually, you all--not just Microsoft, but all console makers--generally hold off on announcing changes to hardware or bundles until they're already appearing on store shelves (so as to minimize the liklihood that consumers would hold off on a purchase for several weeks). Well, good for you for bucking that trend.

The "Xbox 360 Arcade" package should be announced soon then, right? Afterall, we don't want to be the only "new gen" console to not have some store of storage medium packaged with the hardware.

Speaking of being the odd company out, how about adding wi-fi to the "Ultimate" bundle?

Leo: There's a huge difference between sticking a double-pack disc into a box then to rework the hardware. :P

Its good to see more people get to play Forza 2, but at the same time I feel that it cheapens Forza 2 to have it bundled in this way.  The game just came out a few months ago.

@ SCS 85:  I too was surprised to see Forza 2 included in this bundle (at the time of this announcement) about 5 months after it launched.  I'm trying to decide between "powerhouse pack-in" or "let's make the best of a game with faltering sales".  Forza 2 seems a rather niche title for pack-in, the quasi-sim-racer user base would seem rather small.

Not a complaint, just an observation.  Certainly if someone's going to buy a 360, it's awesome that they'll (hopefully) have at least one game they like... if not TWO.

Pushing "retail savings of $90 for consumers" in the press release makes me think it would've been a better value "for consumers" to get the $50 optical audio adapter included in the box instead, so folks can get their 5.1 audio out of their Xbox 360 Pro as shown on this page: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemsetup/xbox360/accessories/hdmicable.htm

Finally, a bundled system worth buying.  This is a fantastic retail move to outsell the competition this year!  This is another reason why MS is at the top of the console game, so far.
