got my copy last night, the NorthPark Mall location in Dallas had about 100 people by midnight. It was actually a lot calmer than I thought it would be, but I got teh halos so I am good!

the Miami Event got NO love it was bad

NONE of the Goodies Major Nelson's site promised were given out. Other random cheaper stuff was.

NO media coverage except local not even G4TV.

I had an awsome time at the Universal Citywalk for the L.A. launch.

I met Jonty Barnes (exec. producer, Halo 3), couple other bungie guys.  I shot some video, which I'll post later tonight!

I got my copy of the limited edition and my disc as not scratched up too bad from the metal case. It boots up fine. I went to my local store and camped out for two hours in line to get my copy and then had to go home and sleep. Sigh.

I can't wait to play through the game tonight. Once I am off work.

I had SOOO much fun playing it on the Xbox.  Maybe an Arcade title with downloadable cities?

I got to attend the MS Atlanta pre launch event. They had a slayer tournament and the winner won a free copy of the Legendary Editon. I was only able to finish in the top ten and just missed the final round. It was a blast and I got a free Halo 3 tshirt and poster.  Thanks MS and Bungie for the best Xbox game to date!!

No, I don't have a copy and don't want one even for free.  And since XBL Marketplace is getting neglected for the week, it seems you guys don't want my money.  Which is fine by me, I need to start Eternal Sonata.

No arcade this week?? Oh, that´s bad for me :( I don´t like Halo... I wish there are 2 games for next week... If there aren´t, this is stupid. There hasn´t been a week without an arcade since January-February.

Can you please tell me why Microsoft and/or Bungie decided to cheap out on the Collector's Edition?  My discs are unplayably scratched, my case is punctured and dented. My Gears of War CE didn't have this issue.  My Lost Planet CE didn't have this issue.  Chris, I want the head of the person responsible on a silver platter.  Why is everything outsourced to the lowest bidder with no regard for quality?

About the launch in Taiwan, I want to say: "Damm the PR in Taiwan....."

The 18Design PR just give me a Press Release about Halo 3 launch in Taiwan, but not give a Halo 3 game pack. The PR deliberately said that Wikinews is just a Citizen Journalism, not Mass Media.

With this word, I'm really angry with whose words because lots of PR in Taiwan such as 18Design doesn't respect Citizen Journalism. If they do so, I won't report on Xbox360 line on Wikinews.

Maybe Citizen Journalism is recognized by European and American countries, but in Taiwan, surely "NOT". The PR or Mass Media are faded in Commercial or Politics, it will be a great bad effect if they don't respect on Citizen Journalism. If employees in Taiwan or other countries knows that, maybe they will respect on Citizen Journalism more and more.

The Seattle event was unbelievable. Meeting Marty O, Luke Smith, Warren Moon, and fellow Halo fanatics was an experience that I will never forget.

The Seattle event was something I will never forget. Thanks to all that were there for making it such a great memory. I can't confirm or deny that the Bacon Waffles were good, but if there was any Bacon Waffles they might have been pretty tasty. Truly an experience I will never forget.

Didn't get to the Bellevue event due to a flat and subsequent problems with spare. *SIGH*  I did get to the Gamestop midnight launch in Bellingham, WA and there were 300+ rabid fans lined up starting at 9pm.  They had some random giveaways, but nothing like the major launch cities (that was Gamestop and not anything that MS advertised).  There were grandparents and parents lined up to pickup a copy for their kids/grandkids, so they could rest a little before playing (since they had a school day).

There were some college kids dressed up like Master  Chief and even one dude who put together an Arbiter costume (insane and realistic)!  All in all there were people running out of the Gamestop with their copies and racing home to play.  This was as big as the Halo2 launch and the buzz was bigger, since everyone wanted to know how the trilogy ends.

Me, I'm working through single player and getting ready to go all multiplayer tonight when my kids come back for the week.

TOKYO -- Gamers across Asia are unhappy at the lack of an English voice track for Microsoft's Xbox 360 title "Halo 3," one of the most eagerly expected games of the year, released Wednesday in most of the region and in Japan on Thursday.

The majority of Asian versions of games, including "Halo" and "Halo 2," are equipped with Chinese- and English-language audio tracks, allowing gamers to choose the one they want. "Halo 3," however, has only Mandarin audio and English subtitles, much to the displeasure of non-Mandarin speaking fans of the series.

The cover of the game states "Language: English/Chinese," and gamers assumed that the setup would be the same as the previous games. Many Xbox owners in Japan preorder big games from Hong Kong-based sites like Play-Asia.com because they're cheaper and the games are region-free.

"My copy has already been shipped, and before it arrived I found out that I can only listen to the game in Mandarin. I don't want to be reading subtitles while I'm playing the game. Microsoft should tell people if they were going to do things differently (than) all the previous games," a Japan-based gamer who had preordered "Halo 3" from Hong Kong said in a phone interview.

Gamers in Hong Kong who had lined up outside stores for the midnight release Tuesday night were particularly displeased as the language used is Mandarin Chinese and not the local Cantonese dialect. Xbox online forums are full of Hong Kong gamers complaining they would rather hear English audio than Mandarin.

"I just had my team try it out, and the Japanese version has only Japanese audio and English subtitles, but no English voices," a an Xbox Japan spokesperson said.

PLEASE MICROSOFT PLEASE  HELP US WITH THIS PROBLEM!!!  The problem is not just isolated in Hong Kong but worldwide through ignorant retailers like Play-Asia who has mislabeled the Chinese only game as English!!!  Our games have all been shipped out and Master Chief is speaking in a language that many of us do not understand!  This is a disgrace for XBOX marketing!  I hope that you will consider a global return for this game!

It was a great event, though it was a madhouse (actually that raised the fun level even higher!). Thanks for the good times, you guys made it an awesome experience!  I have to say standing that close to Mr. Bill Gates was truly an awesome experience.  And I wish someone would have ordered the bacon waffles the next morning... I was intrigued.

It was equally incredible for me, as I got to meet everyone else in the community that I have chatted with before. It was great putting faces to names.
