Pardon the caps, but GEOMETRY WARS LAUNCHES ON MSN GAMES! Wooooooo!
Yes, we're all very excited. ^_^ Three brand-spiffing-new games for Windows Vista just launched on MSN Games! And yes, that includes Geometry Wars, the insanely popular, equally addictive, and formerly Xbox-only arcade game, now making the leap to PC. As an added perk, Geometry Wars is priced at a mere $7.95 (all part of our master plan to create a world of sleep-deprived zombie gamers).
Also new to MSN Games this morning is another Xbox Live Arcade title, Crystal Quest. Old-timers like myself will remember this game from its previous, dark-ages version (when was that, like 1992?), and will most likely be rubbing their hands together gleefully over the notion of playing it with a mouse again, as nature intended. Of course, this new incarnation is a lot prettier and considerably more frenetic, but it plays just the same!
Rounding out the trio is Bliss Island, which is rather difficult to describe but a blast to play. Imagine a hybrid of puzzle, action, and pinball games, and you'll have the basics. Then add fuzzy little sphere creatures, flowers with faces, living rocks, and so on to envision the general atmosphere. Put them all through a series of mini-games in which the main critter manipulates things by blowing air through his trunk, and you have great fun (plus an overwhelming sense of surreality).
Crystal Quest and Bliss Island are priced at $19.95 each, and of course with all three games, you can download a free, full-featured trial version. You have nothing to lose but your resolve to finish the other games you're playing before buying any new ones. And really, is it possible to have too many games?
