The Gamerchix recently celebrated our 6th month anniversary! It may have only been six months but it feels so much longer. The growth of the group and bonding on the forums has been amazing. We have reached a staggering 754 girls and probably more by the time I post this.

I know there are those who don't believe in what we're doing but when I can go into a forum and see girls who can actually share their opinions without the fear of being flamed and can be supportive of each other in times of need, it makes me realize that not all girls are catty wenches. It also shows that you really can find awesome chicks to game with.

One of the things I've brought away from the group is that it's perfectly ok to like glitter and flowery things as well as enjoy the finer things in life like ripping bodies apart with chainsaws (virtually, of course). I'm still having a hard time finding the joy of shoes but I'm sure with the support of the Chix, I will one day be a Manolo evangelist.

I personally want to thank all those gamer guys out there who have introduced us to the important women in their lives or just supported us and say thanks to the Chix themselves for being so incredible! Lastly, I want to say thanks to TriXie and Kitty for being the easiest chix to work with on this busy project.

I am really hoping the success of this group stands as an indicator that forming groups for respectful gamers is a good thing. We don't want to split the community apart but is anyone going to complain if there's a group of people who don't continually scream at each other for being "teh suck"?

Oh, and I'm sure any of the Chix could make a better ninja mask than Chris! DOH!
