Gears of War Rocks Hollywood Forever
Celebrating the RTM (release to manufacturing) of Gears of War, CliffyB and the gang from Epic Games and Microsoft headed to Los Angeles to give anxious gamers (and a few celebs) the chance to get their hands on this holiday's hottest title. I posted a bunch of photos on Flickr.
[Edit: Wanto to hear more about the game? Xbox MVP WitchKing9 aka SGD316 from IGN Forums posted an excellent wrap up, and describes his game play experience.]
Tony and I got to the event as they were putting on the finishing touches at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in downtown Hollywood. The massive graveyard was lit in red, and searchlights cut through the fog that had settled in. Seriously looked like a scene from the game.

The event was held in the main mausoleum. Only in Hollywood! The place is often used for chic Hollywood events, and it made the perfect pre-Halloween setting for staging our version of Emergence Day.

As the guests arrived, they were brought in huge Army trucks with soldiers escorting them. Along the way, sounds from the game were echoed across the graveyard and soldiers guarded the way.

At every Hollywood event, you need a red carpet. Ours was no exception. (I missed my own photo of Lindsay Lohan, but People Mag picked it up).

Inside, everyone got a chance to sit down and play the game. Everyone got to try out the single player campaign, or join in a multi-player match. If you look close, you can see the games machines are in hallways lined by crypts, bathed in red light. It'd be even more creepy if music wasn't blaring through the entire place.

At midnight, the doors were opened to the community, and the games got even more intense.

Xbox MVP aceattorney took some great photos too, including these:
