Last night, I was lucky enough to attend the Match Made in Hell pre-screening of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and I got to see fan reaction to multiplayer Gears of War.

I arrived on the scene around 5:30pm and there was already a fairly long line both in the theater and on the street. My task was "working the line". I'm not generally a screaming, hyperactive, crowd boosting person so I needed a little help. That help came in the form of free popcorn and free soda coupons. WOOOOO HOOOO! For once, I could truthfully say, there was no catch - they really were free. A couple of people seemed amazed that they got anything so it was a real treat for them when they got into the theater and got some cool swag, too.

The demo of the game went flawlessly. When the walkthrough of the first level was given, people were bouncing in their seats. When asked what they thought of the game, a fan yelled, "AWESOME! JUST AWESOME!" while another made the comment that the graphics looked better than the movie. GO EPIC!

I was pretty impressed with the movie, too. I'm a horror movie fanatic but modern horror and the endless remakes have been a real downer. I'd like to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It had what I always look for in my horror movies - A good balance of humor, suspense, stupid decisions and of course gore.

All of the NY fans were amazingly cool and they were all really enthusiastic about the game. To all of those who said hi, called me names, threatened to steal things, told me they lived 2 minutes away from me, drew "interesting" pictures on their DSs, and thanked me - thanks for coming and I hope you enjoyed it!
