LA Match Made in Hell
I was in LA to watch the premiere of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and take part of the first public multi-player hands-on game play of Gears of War.
The line started up around 2PM (for a 7PM start time), but nobody seemed to mind waiting around too much since arriving early guaranteed a chance to see the movie premier, and play Gears of War.

At about 6:30, everyone passed through a search to make sure there were no cameras (or maybe chainsaws?)--I've never seen security this tight at a movie before!
I have to admit, I ended up closing my eyes for a good amount of the movie, but it was action packed, and had a good storyline. There was a good bit of comedy sprinkled in, and everyone there really enjoyed the movie. It opens this weekend, check it out!

After the movie, John Donglemans (the global product manager for Gears of War) did a demo on the big screen, then explained the rules for multiplayer. We broke into two groups of 8, who played split screen (2 per screen) on two teams of four. One lucky player got to play on the big screen, so the crowd could watch. There were lots of chants for some more chainsaw action. The Cogs played the Hoard, best of three won the game. Winning teams got hats and another tee shirt.

We had two film crews there, GameTrailers.com, and the crew working on a Gears of War documentary for MTV.

We saw some of our friends from the community there, too. Spencer from Siliconera, Spawn720, Xbox MVP FragMaster B, and Krystal from PMS Clan.

Next time, we hope to see you there! Watch for more "Match Made in Hell" events this month, as we count down to Emergence Day!
