Tonight some very lucky gamers got to be some of the first people to try out Gears of War.  As mentioned earlier in this blog, four movie theatres in the US were chosen to host a night of hell.  I just returned from the San Francisco event (John and others will report here about the other events shortly).

The night started off with a special screening of the New Line film - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.  After the blood and guts filled the screen from one chainsaw, it was time to fill it some more from Marcus Phoenix’s deadly weapon.  15 people at a time would take a seat up front to play some multiplayer, and one lucky individual got to sit in the back of the theatre and play up on the big screen.  Freakin' sweet!  Believe me, there is nothing like seeing a member of the Locust Horde getting his head blown off on a 60 foot screen!  Great fun.  Check out some of the photos from the event, and be sure to check out coverage from Los Angeles, New York and Chicago here shortly.

[UPDATE: Check out this excellent recap of the Chicago event - thanks Wiseguy!]
