Play Gears of War On the Big Screen This Wednesday

Free Movies, Chainsaws, and Gears of War hands-on play.  It's a "Match Made in Hell."

If you live in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or San Francisco, you can join us to play “Gears of War” after special pre-release screenings of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, this Wednesday, Oct. 4.  I'm told it's first come-first served, so sign up now!

[Update: We're told the sites will be over-booked, so be sure to come early to guarantee admission.  Also, they will be checking tickets and ID, so the person listed on the ticket needs to bring ID, and have their friend with them.]

Be one of the first to play Gears of War.

The pairing of the new film with Gears of War makes the perfect “Match Made in Hell."  This is the first of three “Match Made in Hell” events during the month of October to celebrate the release of the game.  We'll be there too, so be sure to let us know if you got tickets!

Go online today for information about the event at http://www.texaschainsawmovie.com/gearsofwar/, and to sign up for the chance to attend.  And be sure to check back for more information on future "Match Made in Hell" events, including details on “Fright Night” and a “Hollywood Cemetery” event planned for late October.

More information is in the media alert

Screening Disclaimer: Arrive early. Screening pass does not guarantee admission. Theatre seating is limited to theatre capacity, and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. New Line Productions, Inc. reserves the right to refuse access to the theatre in its discretion. By attending, you agree not to bring any audio or video recording device into the theatre and consent to a physical search of your belongings and person. Hey, thanks guys. We just got a pass for the Chicago showing. Can you beleive one of my friends declined to go because the movie was too scary?  LOL.  I guess he'll have to wait to see GOW in person.

You guys HAVE to do these events in the UK! I'm a projectionist at one of the major UK chains, I can hook you up - let me know. Send me a message on live.

Wiseguy, Texas chainsaw massacre is scary.
I couldnt even sit through the last one. For example the scene in the beginning where the girl blasts her own head off. Its disgusting, people think im into that stuff because I cut meat for a living, which is definitely not the case.

Yeah, Menatz is right. Bring these promos to the UK as well!

I played Halo 2 in a tournament at a cinema once, it was awesome!

The 360 has wireless controllers as well so you don't even need to worry about the console's proximity to the projector. Just plug and play.

Seriously, bring stuff like this to the UK and you'll practically solidify any gamer's decision to buy the 360 over PS3 based on the simple reason that there's no way sony'd ever do anything this cool.

hi saw your comment on joystiq about the price drop on 360.  I know this is completely off topic, but instead of a price drop is it possible to see some more bundled content?  Ex. a free 1 year sub to xbox live and two "platinum" games ( $110 retail value) on both SKUs. relative to a price drop the value appeal will be much greater when comparing the other systems, particularly the wii. With a price point so close to wii, people will be deciding between nintendo and MS... Just a thought, now back to your regularly scheduled program

The other thing I think is funny about the san francisco event is that the metreon theatre is basically in a SONY mall. I love it. The whole mall is sony stores for the most part.

I am in the bay area, and I am in 2 minds about this. During a weekday its like investing 5 hrs in this, when I am not at all interested in Texas Crapsaw Massacre...

Is there a chance to grab game dscounts/ coupons in this screening? any give aways? gifts?

RE: Give aways/gifts - I'm sure we'll have some swag on hand, but you may have to win it or be on the winning side in some cases <g> (Go Coalition of Ordered Governments!  Go Locust Horde!)

I left my severed head...in San Francisco.

well see, damn you :P now you have got me further excited about this. But looks like it would be tough to make it to SF during a weekday (got a day job :-( ), specially the time when 101 is packed like a bitch due to office hours. :( Still have my option open though.

Going to the Vista Install Fair coming weekend, maybe I should be content with the Vista Utimate Copy I get for free :D :D

I want to know if I should be bringing my Gears of War faceplate to have him sign it...;p
