Summer of Xbox Live Arcade Event in San Francisco Tomorrow

Tuesday night, Aaron and I will be in San Francisco, at a party to celebrate "the Summer of Xbox Live Arcade." I'll have some photos from the event, and we'll be able to share even more news about the "Summer of Xbox Live Arcade" then.

[Update: Tickets are gone. See you tonight]

In the meantime, dust off those 80's CDs, and get ready for some arcade action. Frogger, anyone?

"SUMMER of X-Box Live Arcade." That word fills me with joy. If XBLA focuses on the months other publishers usually ignore it'd be very lovely indeed. (Although techncially, summer's half over...)

Considering I bought my 360 primarily for the arcade, retrogaming, casual gaming, etc, I say bring it on. Like, on. Bring it. Soon. Now. Something. Anything...

Thank God - there has been a bit of a drought in the XBLA, looks like it's about to rain. Cool.

I'm usually a quality not quantity guy but I would like to see a lot more quantity on XBLA. Let the market decide what's good and what's not.

The added live features in things like Street Fighter II are great but I can't help wondering what that will add to sales. I would have taken SFII months ago in a non-live format and waited for an update.

Oh and can we have some of the lower quality stuff - the real play and throw away stuff - on proper *micro* transactions. If a game is simple then I'll hapilly stump up a dollar to have an hour with it. But I balk at 1200 / 800 points for anything other than GW or Zuma.

Have a great time down here in SF, it is a fun city and I am sure the turn out will be strong. Sorry I am going to miss it, hope to attend a future baya rea event. I am excited for the XBLA annoucements.

Is there any possibility that the XBOX PR team will be hosting any events on the east coast in the future? I suppose it makes sense to host these events in Hollywood or San Francisco in order to get maximum media coverage. I also suppose NYC isn't out of the question on the east coast but it would be great if some of us east coasters had a chance to pop in to see what was going on.

Thanks again for at least hosting these sorts of events and providing the community with opportunities to attend. I think it's great the the XBOX team cares about their customers enough to actually include them in what otherwise might only be limited to industry insiders.

Why havent most of the zone.com games been brought over?

I know, I know... "You can play it on your PC".

Some of us dont have PC's. Plus, I see it as just more revenue for developers.

Great... I know where this is but I can't go. Darn it for being a Central American citizen instead of someone on the West Coast.

And I am one of Xbox Live Arcade's #1s fans since launch on the original bulky, black box.

Still looking for my chance to purchase the remainder of the Xbox Live Arcade games on the original Xbox console when I can turn back on the ability to purchase premium content. :_(

Back when I was in school, summer lasted from June 21st to September 20th. Since I highly doubt this has shifted a full month we're just 3 weeks in mate.
