Big fat raises for cesar and tony!! Oh, and can you put in a good word with my boss?

ANY news from the Arcade department will be welcomed with joy and cheer.

...unless it's "Here's a bunch of new games we're announcing that you also won't be playing for months!", mind you.

Tony has been a great MVP contact/leader, since I was awarded in January.  He has led numerous opportunities for us and is always available for questions, comments and feedback.  Tony has been encouraging and when possible fills us in on upcoming details.  Although we haven't had a chance to meet in real life yet, he's been a pleasure to work with.  I appreciate the lead he takes in the monthly MVP calls and the followup for events and the like.  He definately deserves a huge thanks and big raise!

I've never met Cesar, but I've really enjoyed his take on the industry and gaming in the Gamerscore blog.  Everyone I've talked with has had great things to say about Cesar and in a competitive world like Microsoft and the gaming industry that is high praise.   Big raise and big thanks for Cesar too.

Keep up the great work and give yourself a big raise too John for leading this growing and very active team.  It's been a pleasure to get to know you guys a little better and have so much great information coming out each day!

The Future of Media Summit 2006 will be a unique conference connecting thought leaders at simultaneous events in San Francisco and Sydney.  I live in SF any way you could buy me in with a guest ticket? $199 for an event of the future what a great gift that owuld be for a UC DAVIS student to attend. What do you say could I take part in history in the making.

Damn I was already missing Cesar, turns out he just went AWOL      :P

Anyway, I've had a bunch of beers and talks with Cesar and scaled the Sydney Tower with him, so he's cool and should be getting a top review, but don't tell him I said that  ;)

This has nothing to do with the topic, BUT since you don't have any mail address', I'll write here :)

Could you possibly bring up the issue with fragmentation. I think I can't go anywhere without this topic being brought up in almost every single forum! :-P People want to know "OMG how do I defragment the disc?" (this was brought up even during Xbox 1)

Frankly, I don't understand why people are so concerned about this, just game on people! :-P

But without knowing anything about how this works, I guess that Xbox 360 uses FAT32 or maybe another proprietary system, and either employes a technique to prevent fragmentation and/or defragments autmatically in the background.

(I think the latter would explain the strange noises I keep hearing from the HDD from time to time, and which I also heard on Xbox 1. The sound of a disc reading&writing rapidly)

Well, if you could just touch on this issue once, it would be great. I mean, you don't need to give out any filesystem secrets, just how the machine keep the fragmentation at bay, and a lot of people in the foums would go silent.

In all seriousness JP, you, Tony, and Cesar have all been VERY open, and accessible.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet and hang out with you guys in Redmond a month back.  Everyone was great.

So from a "review" standpoint - just being there is 90% - seriously.  Listening, replying to these posts, replying to emails, sending messages/answers over XBLive messanger.

Stuff like this goes a VERY long way in connecting with the fans/community/news sites, and in my opinion, all three of you (and more than just those three) do a great job on that.

Wow that sounds like I'm a brown noser...  Let's see - uh, Cesar is short, and Tony spends too much time getting gamer points.  ;)

i can't say a qualification, cause no matter what it is, you will still deserving a qualification 100 times higher...

I sure have nothing bad to say about either, and since Microsoft seems to have nailed the 360's opening months, throw raises around like it's Sony!

I think they are both doing a great job and they went above and beyond withthe E3 coverage.

SF Bay area event? Aracade news? Sounds like a fun week coming up. I hope to crash the event.

The way you guys are approaching the community is priceless. We love that you're open with us and hand us the truth straight up, the way we like it.

Is there any else but glowing reviews you could give these guys?  Seriously, I think you all are excellent examples of what Microsoft has been trying to do for years, be more in touch with the global community out here, and not just the developers.  

Thank you all for the openness you have shown to the community.  The Xbox product line team has done some amazing things to truly allow the end-user, the gamer, to be informed and listened too.  

Now of course if they do screw up, my resume is on the way!

I'm not praising César until he remembers us and sends some X-Box 360 units to his home country :(
