Sneak Preview of Environmentally-Themed Games from Global Game Development Competition to Take Place in New York City

What:
On Tuesday, June 3, Microsoft and Games for Change (www.gamesforchange.org) invite you to an exclusive preview of environmentally-themed video games developed by students from around the world.  Last year, the two organizations teamed up to encourage social-issue problem solving through video games by sponsoring a game development competition which challenged competitors to create innovative games dedicated to the theme of a sustainable environment. The global competition launched in August as a new component of Microsoft’s Imagine Cup (http://imaginecup.com/), to more than 100,000 students in more than 100 countries.

The final six games from the contest will be previewed at the 2008 Games for Change Expo (www.gamesforchange.org/conference/2008/expo.php), an evening devoted to the latest trends in socially responsible gaming.

Who:
Join Jeff Bell and Chris Satchell from Microsoft, as well as Suzanne Seggermen, president and co-founder of Games for Change, as they provide the first look at these innovative, environmentally-themed games and spend some hands on time with them before they head to Paris for the Imagine Cup worldwide finals in July.
